Introduction

The Gentle Monster x D.Va Instagram Filter Challenge was an exciting opportunity that I couldn't resist participating in from the moment it was announced. It presented a chance to create something extraordinary using the editing and effects available on mobile video editors. My vision for this project was to blend the aesthetics of old and new, seamlessly integrating a natural backdrop with futuristic elements, specifically the distinctive style of Gentle Monster glasses. Venice, Italy, with its timeless beauty, emerged as the perfect setting for this unique challenge.

Creative Concept

To achieve our vision, my team and I decided to embark on a journey to Venice. Our objective was to capture the essence of old-world charm against the backdrop of the city's picturesque canals and historic architecture. Venice offered a harmonious contrast to the modernity of the Instagram filter and the futuristic design of the Gentle Monster glasses.

Execution

We knew that the soft, early morning light in Venice would perfectly complement our video's aesthetic, so we set our alarms early to make the most of this natural lighting. The early hours of the day provided the ideal atmosphere, allowing us to capture the mesmerizing beauty of Venice with a touch of mystique.

I took on multiple roles throughout this project, including director of photography, choreographer, wardrobe stylist, and video editor. This hands-on approach allowed me to fully realize my creative vision and ensure that every element of the project aligned with our concept.

Results and Success

Participating in the Gentle Monster x D.Va Instagram Filter Challenge was an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. I was thrilled to learn that my entry was recognized, and I was among the select few winners who received the exclusive Gentle Monster glasses that will never be available in retail. This recognition and the opportunity to showcase our creativity on such a platform were truly humbling and gratifying.
