It all started in 2018 when I decided to dive headfirst into the vibrant world of cosplay. Little did I know that this adventure would become a defining chapter in my creative life.

The Beginning

My first cosplay venture was driven by sheer excitement. I was gearing up for BlizzCon, the epic convention in Los Angeles, and I had a wild idea—I wanted to make my own cosplay and even participate in the cosplay competition.

Crafting the Magic

So, there I was, a rookie in the cosplay world, armed with passion and a whole lot of enthusiasm. I chose to create a costume inspired by Saurfang from World of Warcraft. With a heap of determination and a dash of creative chaos, I brought Saurfang to life. Every detail, from the armor to his unique features, was lovingly crafted.

But before BlizzCon debut, I decided to test the waters a bit closer to my new home in Glasgow, Scotland. I entered a local cosplay competition, sporting my Saurfang creation. To my amazement, I snagged the second place! It was a small victory but one that filled me with confidence for the adventure ahead.

The day finally arrived when I stood on the BlizzCon stage, surrounded by 2,000 fellow cosplayers. My Saurfang cosplay not only earned me a spot among the top 25 finalists but also catapulted me into the spotlight in front of 35,000 live attendees and an additional 2 million online viewers. Talk about nerve-wracking and exhilarating all at once!

That moment at BlizzCon marked the beginning of my ongoing love affair with cosplay. It wasn't just a one-time thing; it became a passion. I found myself creating at least one new cosplay every year, exploring different characters and genres, and meeting amazing people along the way.

What I cherish most about my cosplay journey is the creative process itself. There's something magical about brainstorming a character, painstakingly crafting the costume, and then stepping into the shoes of that character at conventions. The thrill of being recognized and asked for photos is a feeling like no other.
